Devouring History - Friday 23rd February 2018

from 65.00

Inspired by the heavy sense of history at Woolhouse Farm we are offering the opportunity to literally taste its past.

Having lectured and taught food history for six years at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, Ian has a whole raft of delicious recipes from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The day begins at 10am in the hall sampling the delights of Georgian coffee (quite extraordinary) authentic hot chocolate and a dish of tea.

We will then progress to the kitchen for a hands on cookery session preparing five dishes to be enjoyed at luncheon in the atmospheric little parlour served in historic fashion.

Our menu will include meat, fish and vegetables in season and will be accompanied by a spectacular (or possibly disastrous) pudding of stoned cream!

The day will conclude with the preparation of Sweetmeats to take home.

Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies

We recommend warm casual clothing and wellingtons for traversing the farm!

The farm is remote and we suggest the use of satellite navigation:
